Blowing Out the Candles

Every birthday there was a cake,

There were the candles to blow out.

There were wishes to make.

To dance, eat cake, sing and shout.

Those were all her secret wishes.

She wished for success and fame,

Her destiny was never ever the same.

She loved every exciting birthday game.

The candles on the birthday cake,

Grew as the years went creeping by.

She sent her wishes to the Heavens and sky.

Celeste was always happy to see them.

The years had changed her a lot.

She now had different wishes,

And they all did come true.

Her life was cheery and never turned blue.

She found a man she loved,

They had a family of two boys.

Wishes change over time and age,

Life is filled with candles at every stage.
