I enjoy creative writing as it is an opportunity for me to develop my powers of creativity and imagination. I have been a writer on Medium for over 4 years and have a large following on Medium. I also write on Substack, where I have made a substantial literary contribution. As an independent author on a number of publishing platforms, I have published over 112 titles. I have recently published a memoir on my father, who passed away 2 years ago. My father Melvyn Brown was a prolific writer and he inspired me to take up the literary craft.

Nothing is irrelevant in life. As an author it is essential to realize that nothing is unimportant. There is always a story waiting to be told or written. If you spot that story, it has been waiting for you to come along and to write it into a poem, story, article or blog post.

Perhaps it is the day when everything goes smoothly, when you win the lottery or when all your plans take off and you get that soaring feeling inside your chest.

To many, Melvyn was more than a community figure. To  schoolchildren in Calcutta , he was simply  "The Storyteller" , enchanting young minds during creative writing classes with tales full of heart and imagination. And to radio listeners across the nation, he was affectionately known as  "Uncle Melvyn" , sharing his stories on  All-India Radio  with warmth and wonder. Melvyn was a  gifted speaker and deeply reflective writer , publishing numerous  books and newsletters  that championed both  spiritual growth  and  Anglo-Indian identity . Among his printed works were  The Anglo-Indian Newsletter ,  The Catholic Post ,  The Catholic Woman ,  Pro-Life News , and  The All-Parish Paper . His voice reached far and wide—not just through pages, but in public talks that inspired and united.

We are just actors in a novel, Bending a storyline to our will. Life is a great and lovely pretend. We imagine and live, start to end. Life has its ups, downs, some high and some low. Identity and personality need time to grow. Sometimes we need to pretend, So that we can fulfil our destiny. Perhaps by pretending we do become, The person we were meant to be. Waiting for the Rain to Fall I am waiting for the rain to fall. It is late at night and there is a breeze, That whistles by and rustles the trees. Leaves fall and bounce off the white wall. The skies are without stars tonight. The Moon has hidden her face behind the clouds. The night skies are dark with a billion shrouds. Not a planet or a star is willing to shine tonight. The smell of the rain is carried in the breeze. The hermit sits like a child waiting for the rainfall. He has entered a state of zen and now he sees it all. There is a balance between life that moves with ease. There is a silent whisper in the cool summer breeze. Tiny droplets of water fall on leaves and on silent roads. Within a few minutes there are well windows and boards. The rain has started blessing the earth and does not cease.

  In the realm of dreams, The impossible is possible. Reality with all its rules, Does not hold in this realm. Every dreamy landscape exists, From raging volcanoes to waterfalls, From magical creatures in the mists. In the kingdom of dreams and fantasy, There is no place for harsh reality. When we close our eyes and dream, Our imagination takes control, it does seem. The real world fades behind the veil of illusion. We witness events that go beyond belief, We are part of a carnival that has no conclusion. I n the world ruled by the God of Dreams, There are creatures that we have never seen. Some worlds defy our human imagination. Do these worlds really exist beyond the Gates of Time? Where reality ceases to exist, and nothing is a crime.
